Fireworks displays in Marlow 2012

Traditionally, our fireworks display article is one of our most popular and most visited pages of the year… so without further delay – here we go:

We have had lots of people asking if Longridge Fireworks are going ahead this year – the answer is they are NOT!

There was damage caused to the site, with all the rain earlier in the year – and it was feared that over 2,000 people on site all at one time would damage it beyond repair. So the site is being left to recover this year.

Despite the loss of this Marlow institution, it does mean that there is no clashing of dates with the other local displays, meaning you can easily fit in 2 displays!

The first display is Marlow Bottom Fireworks on Saturday 3rd November, at Burford School, Marlow Bottom – raising funds for the School, and for the playing fields.

Gates open 5:30pm, with the “Fireworks extravaganza” starting at approx 7pm.  They have plenty of other attractions lined up too – lots of stalls, hot food, BBQ, refreshments and a bar.

Tickets are available online at www.marlowbottomfireworks.com, or also in Marlow Information Centre, Institute Road.
Adults: £6, Child (age 4-12) £5, or £20 for a group/family of 4.

Foxes Piece Firework Display is on Monday 5th November
Gates open at 6.00pm, and tickets are bought on the night – costing £6.00 for adults and  £3.00 for children.
In addition to the display there will be food , refreshments, licensed bar and children’s fairground rides.

Whatever you do, enjoy! Let us know which you visited and what you thought.

  1. These two shows are great as they support the local schools and I would definitely recommend you go to one of these two shows.

However if you are looking for something a bit different then I would recommend looking at the show at Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning. Slightly further to go however it is by far the best show around this area. Fully sync’d to music you wont see anything better outside of Disney land or the big amusement parks.

Check out the videos from previous years to be convinced:

The show doesn’t clash with any of the local ones either being that it is on Thurs 8th Nov.

  2. The 2011 video has been removed by EMI/Orchard Music due to copyright restrictions!! And the music industry wonders why there is so much piracy! How petty.

    Thanks for the recommendation though.

  3. Hi Mark,
Thanks for that, I have sorted it, just needed to accept some copyright bits so they can show adverts with the video.
