The Rotary Clubs of Marlow and Marlow Thames are again joining forces to bring you, once more, the ever popular Santa’s Fun Run. This year, it promises to be even bigger and better with up to 2,250 entrants to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this superb event.
Olympic gold medallists Sir Steve Redgrave and Naomi Riches have already reserved their places to run. Sir Steve will start the run and Naomi will be leading a very special pre-run warm up in Higginson Park.
The big date is Sunday, December 7th and the Santas will leave Higginson Park, Marlow, at the earlier time of 09.30. This is very much a community event, Santa’s Fun Run is open to people of all ages and abilities, disabled or able bodied. Families and groups are particularly welcomed.
The event has been sold out over the past few years and, at time of writing it is already half full!! So if you want to take part this year, you should sign up as soon as possible. You can do this and find out all you need to know by visiting www.santasfunrun.org or call 01628 476610
Since the first ever Santa’s Fun Run, the event has raised a fantastic £132,000 for deserving causes, many of them in the local community. Everything is well organised with marshals stationed throughout the 5 km course.
What does it cost to take part? Adults £15.00, 12 to 17 year olds £10.00 and 5 to 11 years old £7.00. Adults receive a Santa suit to dress up in, children of all ages receive a Santa “T” shirt and everyone who finishes the course gets a celebratory medal just to say “Well Done”.
What a wonderful way to get the Christmas season going at the beginning of December!
