Marlow’s stunning Christmas lights are to be switched on this year by Edd China, TV presenter, mechanic, motor specialist and inventor. He will do the honours at the Switch on and Shop event on Thursday, 22nd November from the top of the double-decker bus in Marlow High Street.
Best known for his presence on Discovery Channel’s television show Wheeler Dealers, Edd has also appeared on Top Gear, Auto Trader, Scrapheap Challenge and Fifth Gear, and will be familiar to many in the town.
Edd’s well known driveable sofa was last seen in Marlow during promotion for the Pop Up Picture House, and he hold various world records including for the fastest shed, toilet, and bed! He was also part of the amphibious vehicle flotilla that arrived in Marlow last year. And we know he is also a fan of a Marlow favourite – the Pirate Pizza boat 😉

‘Snow’ will fall as Marlow starts its Christmas countdown in style. To add to the authentic Christmas scene, there will be carols and festive music around the bus, which will be stationed outside the Chequers pub as usual.
Marlow’s Christmas lights display has become a popular draw for visitors, bringing many people into the town to shop and enjoy the coffee shops, bars and restaurants in and around the High Street.
The High Street will be closed from 5.00-7.30 pm. There will be ‘snow’ from 6.00 pm and the switch-on ceremony will take place at 6.30 pm.
