Tom Kerridge and Atul Kochhar go head to head in Pub in The Park charity boat race in aid of Marlow RowAbility
Starting at 10.30am on Saturday 18th May, spectators can enjoy watching Chef Superstars Tom Kerridge and Atul Kochhar, with the support all-star Michelin squads, row from Marlow Bridge to the finish line at the end of Higginson Park.
This promises to be an exciting race as part of the Pub in the Park, helping to raise much needed community funds for a new Accessibility Area at Marlow Rowing Club. Spectators can watch from Marlow Bridge and the towpath to cheer on their favourite chefs in the race. (ie NO tickets are needed to watch the race, it can be easily viewed from the bridge and towpath at that end)
Sounds like this will be lots of fun, and MyMarlow will be there to cover the race, of course!
RowAbility: the need to improve access..
Marlow Rowing Club maintains its status as one of the UK’s leading clubs for Adaptive Rowing, training top Rowing Paralympian talent and hopefuls alike, and inspiring those with disability and mobility issues to follow their passion for rowing.
While Marlow Rowing Club has a new indoor state-of-the-art fully accessible facility, funds are still needed for easier and safer water access for adaptive rowers. (MyMarlow has seen the state of the waterside access area, and it really does need work!)
Five times gold medal winning rower, Sir Steve Redgrave, is a life member and major supporter of his hometown’s Rowing Club, alongside Gold Medal winning Paralympian Naomi Riches MBE, who regularly trains there and is a driving force behind the Marlow RowAbility cause.
How you can contribute
Funding for this initiative is being sought from various channels, but one important source will be a newly launched crowdfunding page. More information on the cause, and the ability to make a donation is right here:
