Local Residents Raise £20k for Park Improvements

Marlow Bottom Playing Fields Committee (MBPFC) has recently arranged the addition of new Under 5’s play equipment to the playground – a great example of the local community coming together & improving the local area and the lives of those within it.

Recommended for children aged 6mths to 5 years old the equipment is designed to deliver key play values including sliding, meeting, crawling, hiding, taking shelter & climbing. The equipment is funded by local residents who have attended Rock Bottom and Marlow Bottom Fireworks. The Committee wants to pass on a massive thank you to residents and businesses in the local community who have volunteered, attended and given time, expertise and sponsorship to the events.

MBPFC Chairman Jason Batten told us “it’s been an ambition for some years to make the park even more inclusive by providing equipment for younger children to enjoy. We’re incredibly proud to invest over £20,000 into the playground with new equipment like the Swingo as well as the brand new Under 5’s equipment. We are reinvesting the profits made at Rock Bottom & the Annual Fireworks back into the community.”

Local resident & mum of 2 Beth Steele commented “I don’t think enough people realise that the playing fields aren’t fully maintained and funded by the council. Rock Bottom and the fireworks are great events, getting involved by helping out or buying tickets helps everyone. Especially when you know that all the proceeds are going towards improving the facilities for our children and the families that use the play park and the field.”
