Just a quick update for you on Lieviti, the new restaurant going in where Francesco’s used to be.
We first announced all this back in July, when a planning application went in. At the time, the logo we tracked down suggested it would be “Lieviti – Gourmet Pizzeria”.
Fast forward to December, and planning has been approved, work has started on the interior, and signage has gone up in the windows. Now the updated logo reveals Lieviti will be a Gourmet Pizzeria Osteria”
Wikipedia tells us that in Italy, an Osteria ” was originally a place serving wine and simple food. Lately, the emphasis has shifted to the food, but menus tend to be short, with the emphasis on local specialities such as pasta and grilled meat or fish, often served at shared tables.”
MyMarlow managed to have a word with Fabrizio, one of the new co-owners who confirmed that in addition to the gourmet pizzas, the restaurant will serve a small seasonal menu of other items. The other co-owner is Luca from the popular and highly regarded Satollo in Liston Court.
