One Can Food Bank – fundfaising plea

| |

It is pretty difficult to fully understand what it must be like to have the added pressure of not having enough food during these times. Most of us are thinking around the logistics of reducing our social contact or how we might get food to isolating relatives.

But for the One Can Trust food bank (based in Wycombe, serving the town and South Bucks), the reality of hungry families is in their lives daily and the demand double has doubled in recent weeks.

One resident of Marlow, Tash Somers, seeing requests coming from the trust has taken to crowdfunding to try and help.

Tash says ‘It isn’t easy for everyone to physically help and I know many people are feeling like they want to do something. Setting up the crowdfund was an easy way to allow those at home wanting to help to make a difference. Marlow and other communities responded with their generosity, quite amazing!’

In the past week the crowdfund has seen lots of donations from the community and is just shy of the £1k mark.

Tash goes on to say
“What is important I think to recognise is that not everyone can contribute financially, but just by spreading the word through their network, they are helping the fund to grow.’

The crowdfund has a week left to run and once complete the One Can Trust can decide how they would like to spend it.
