This year entrants have 2 choices.

  1. Enter the “traditional” Fun Run – starting in the High Street on the morning of Sunday 5th December

    OR
  2. They can organise their own “self-managed” mini event – preferably over the same weekend, but of course they can take place anywhere! This allows maximum flexibility and will perhaps help those who are uncomfortable with larger gatherings.

The organisers have around 3000 Santa suits in stock – all ready to be distributed in late November, and this year all children aged 5 and over will receive a Santa Suit (subject to availability).

There are some changes to allow entrants to raise even more funds!

  1. As usual, individuals and teams can help raise additional funds for Rotary selected charities – including the lead charities: Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Young Minds ( (the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health))
  2. Or they can select their own favourite charity and set up their own fundraising page. The chosen charity of course then receives 100% of the funds raised. To add another incentive to this approach the organisers have created a “Charity Pool” – thanks to the generosity of some leading sponsors. A sum of £5,000 is guaranteed in this “Charity Pool” – and it will be equally shared by all charities nominated provided that £500 has been raised by event entrants (rules apply).

The Shanly Foundation (lead sponsor), Blaser Mills Law, Heart of Bucks Foundation, and Community Impact Bucks are the sponsors who have enabled this “Charity Pool” to be introduced.

The “Charity Pool” has been specifically been introduced to encourage entrants to support their own favourite charities – or to encourage charities themselves to enter their own teams. Amongst the supporters Blaser Mills Law have for the first time become a significant commercial sponsor of the Marlow Santa’s Fun Run, and have enabled the creation of the “Charity Pool”.

Dave Matthews, Chief Executive Officer and Partner of Blaser Mills Law says: “We are delighted to be associated with this iconic event – probably the biggest single charity fundraiser in the area. The Rotary Clubs of Marlow do a great job in supporting the local community – so it feels absolutely right for Blaser Mills Law to lend it’s support to them. After 18 months of restrictions this event provides a fantastic opportunity for local people to come together for all the right reasons”

John Prout – Chair of the Santa’s Fun Run organising committee – saysLast year the event took place with Covid restrictions still in place – and was reduced to a series of mini events. This year we aim to celebrate not only a partial return to normality – but also recognise the fact that we all have our own preferences as to how we deal with the continuing Covid risk. We are delighted with the support from our commercial sponsors, and the Charity Pool is a fantastic new innovation. In addition to Blaser Mills Law the Shanly Foundation, Community Impact Bucks and the Heart of Bucks Foundation have enabled the creation of this “Charity Pool”. But of course we receive great support from many other commercial organisations”.

“We want to create a fantastic fun weekend that includes teams from local businesses, schools, churches, charities, scout and guide groups, families, neighbourhoods, clubs – all running for a great cause. Come and join us”.
