Clothing shop M & Co on Marlow’s West Street closes its doors for the last time today, Tuesday 4th April.
We have previously reported that the building had been purchased by the Wetherspoon pub chain, so there was always going to be a closure date. (read more in our article)
However, things accelerated when it was recently announced that administrators had been appointed for the whole company, and that all 170 stores would be closed with a loss of nearly 2,000 jobs. (see BBC news for more on that)
Work has already been carried out in recent days to start stripping the shop of fixtures.
Regardless of all the above, this is a sad day for the employees, and the many customers who appreciated having a large, good value clothes shop in town.
