On Saturday 24th July, Marlow’s Riley Park was home to the Holistic Mystic & Craft Fayre. The park was filled with wellbeing stalls, craft stalls, crystals, jewellery, books, esoteric goods, tibetan bowls, psychic readers and taster treatments plus a local BBQ – all in aid of raising money for Riley Park.

Open from 11am-4pm, it was a beautiful day to stroll around the park and view the various stalls. But, you would be forgiven if you weren’t aware that it was on… as there is a mysterious phenomenon surrounding this mystic fair and indeed all the local Mind, Body and Soul Fayre’s (usually held at Liston Court) .

Debbie Lawrence who runs the Fayre’s, plus Angelite Holistic Therapies in West Street, has noticed a familiar curiosity that surrounds her events.

Every time she puts up posters, flyers or signs, a person or a group takes them down. Not just satisfied with a few A4 posters, the unknown suspects have also stolen sandwich boards and a massive outdoor banner; which had been securly tied to the front of a Liston Court.

After being reassured that the Council was not removing the signs Debbie spoke to the Police, who are still looking into the matter. The signs have never been found, and it seems that there is a personal vendetta by someone or a group against these psychic fayre’s.

These fayre’s are family friendly, offering advice and therapies to people of all ages. Thankfully there has never been any concerns from people attending the fayre’s but hopefully, when the next Fayre arises the only mystical incident that occurs will be inside the building.
