Having been rebuilt after the devastating fire of 2011, Marlow Rowing Club’s new building will be officially opened this weekend.
The building with views overlooking Marlow bridge and church, includes a state-of-the-art community gym, spacious changing facilities, a large boat storage facility, full disability access and a club room with bar and balcony making the most of the views.
The new construction is not only the home of Marlow Rowing Club but also a watersports hub providing a world-class community sports facility for rowing and sculling, para-rowing, canoeing, para-canoeing, triathlon and open water swimming. The partner clubs include Row2Recovery Rowing Club, Marlow Canoe Club, Longridge Canoe Club, and the Henley Open Water Swimming Club. The hub facilities will give the opportunity for young people, adults and people with disabilities to learn or take part in all these water sports.
On Sunday 20th September, Marlow Watersports Hub will be holding an ‘Open Day’ where the public will be able to have guided tours around the club, partake in rowing, canoeing and kayaking taster sessions and sit and socialise in the club room where coffee, tea and light refreshments can be purchased. Also, after midday the famous Marlow Rowing Club bar will be open. The Open Day will run from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm and representatives from all the Watersports Hub clubs will be on hand to discuss their sport and sign up any new members.
