The Rotary Clubs of Marlow have confirmed that 2000 entries have been received, so only 500 spaces remain available with just a few weeks left to secure participation in this iconic event.
The 14th Annual Santa’s Fun Run takes place on Sunday December 2rd starting at 9.30AM. Yet again we should see a fantastic fun event that will appeal to the entire community – attracting both runners and spectators.
Entries must be made via the website – www.santasfunrun.org
Entrants are reminded that there are a number of important changes this year. First, scooters are banned as a result of insurance requirements, and secondly there is a significant move to adopt a more environmentally friendly approach. The Rotary Clubs of Marlow have decided to stop supplying plastic water bottles, to stop providing plastic bags, to replace plastic cups with non-plastic versions and to generally adopt a “greener” approach.
2018 will also continue the focus on making the day memorable for both runners and spectators. Those standing on Marlow High Street will again witness the truly fantastic sight of 2500 Father Xmas outfits, and then enjoy entertainment provided by the Marlow Jam Theatre Company.
The event should raise in the region of £40,000 for mainly local charities, this year the prime charities are Marlow Opportunity Playgroup and Rennie Grove Hospice Care
Rotary Santas Fun Run committee chairman David Sutherland said “Yet again we are delighted with the number of entries received. We strongly advise that anyone still interested in participating visits the website in the next week or so in order to avoid disappointment”
