In true tradition, Marlow’s Premier Sporting and Social Occasion kicked off on the banks of the river on a bright & blustery day with our opening Ceremony.
The sun was shining down on Nav Ali, as he handed over his stewardship as Town Regatta & Festival Chairman to Robin Atkinson. Nav Ali has been steering the committee successfully for 8 years, since the passing of Jim Campbell. A glass was raised as Robin Atkinson thanked Nav for his leadership and presented him with a Regatta engraved tankard.
Lady Ann Redgrave was welcomed to officially open the ceremony, remembering years gone by & thanking Nav for his tremendous efforts, with a stunning water colour of sunset over the River Thames at Marlow – presented by Sophie Redgrave.
With a fantastic attendance, the atmosphere was buzzing along the Jim Campbell Riverside Promenade with the thrill of the competition pulling in the crowds. Marlow Rowing Club fitted in Adaptive Rowing along with an action packed day of racing.
