The Zero Option, the specialist low and no alcohol retailer, is set to return to Marlow taking the newly refurbished 79-81 High St on a pop-up basis. The shop will be open for business on Wednesday, 24th of July.
Selling a wide range of beers, ciders, aperitifs, wines and spirits with a 0.5 per cent ABV or less, The Zero Option was launched by brothers Tim and Phil Coles in 2018 in response to the growing demand for low and no alcohol drinks, an industry now worth £100 million. The shop will stock well-known brands such as Seedlip and Heineken, but with a focus on exciting and distinctive new independent brands such as Braxzz beers and ciders and Twelve Below, a range of genuinely low sugar tonics from local producer The Chiltern Mix.
Their mission continues, to offer more variety in a market where options are often limited to sugary soft drinks. They will be hosting regular free tasting sessions to help customers find their perfect alcohol-free gin and tonic, aperitif or cocktail.
Sales of non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits are at an all-time high in the UK according to market researchers Nielsen, with a record £57 million in the 12 months to April spent on low and non-alcoholic beers, reflecting an uplift of 39 per cent.
Tim and Phil Coles, Founders of The Zero Option, said: “Since our first successful pop-up in Marlow last Christmas, the rate of growth in this industry has been phenomenal. We have continued to champion fledgling brands through our web store as well as attending numerous festivals and events, including the Marlow Pub in the Park event in May. Having started our journey here, we feel a great affinity for Marlow and are thrilled to be returning to Marlow High Street for a longer period. There is a real demand for alcohol-free drinks that taste good and offer the same opportunities to socialise and relax that we often associate with having a drink. We’re looking forward to serving our Marlow regulars and new customers alike to show them what is on offer in this growing market.”
Tamra Booth, Managing Director at Sorbon Estates, said: “It is fantastic to welcome The Zero Option back to Marlow. Working with retailers on pop-up shops as they trial expanding their brands, or even physical retail for the first time, is a great opportunity to bring new and exciting ideas to the high street and this latest pop-up brings a truly unique shopping experience to Marlow’s residents.”
