Marlow Bridge “stars” in new BBC show

| |

If you follow us on social media, you might remember we reported back in May 2022 that a film crew had rolled into town to film scenes on Marlow Bridge.

We reported that the scenes were for a BBC adaptation of Great Expectations, and shared photos of the gravel laid down on the bridge, then some of filming later in the day – which we have shared again later in this article.

Todays, Sunday 26th March was the first episode of the show – and we had no idea how long we would have to wait into the series before seeing Marlow feature. We didn’t have to wait long – it was the VERY first thing on screen!! At one point the screen notes that this is “London, 1839” – with CGI adding in distant scenes including St Pauls Cathedral.

The episode can be seen here:

Some screenshots of that first few moments:

And here’s a reminder of our photos from the filming back in May 2022
