Hot off the press…. we have just heard direct from Wetherspoons
* Building work will begin in Marlow on April 8th 2024
* Opening date planned for September 3rd 2024
* The pub will be called “The Grand Assembly”
Just to keep you up to date with the pub’s name – in September 2022 we first reported on the planning appplication with architect’s plans having a frontage using “The Brass Thimble”, then we reported in November 2022 than revised plans has been submitted with the name “The Swan Hook”.
So, the name has changed a couple of times during the planning application phase- we now seem to have the final version!
We first mentioned this story back in March 2022, when the Wetherspoons group purchased the large shop site for £3.5 million, which at the time contained M&Co.
